Vietnam's Vung Tau to hold international tourism expo

VietNamNet Bridge – The authority of Vung Tau will organize its first international exhibition on tourism from October 19 to 23 to promote the southern city as a key destination for tourists.

Nguyen Ngoc Hung, director of the Foreign Affairs Department of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, the organizer of the event, said the forthcoming exhibition would be a venue for tourism promotion and economic and cultural exchanges among the participating countries and territories.

There will be around 250 booths of about 170 local companies active in the tourism sector attending the exhibition, including travel agencies, hotels, resorts, transportation service providers, banks, gift shops and craft villages, among others.

Hung said the exhibition at the Vung Tau Paradise resort had so far attracted some 10 countries and territories, including Australia, Canada, Russia, India, China and Malaysia, with 22 booths.

The five-day event will also feature seminars where participating companies could build business links or sign contracts.

The Department's External Service Center will join hands with Tan Viet Information Joint Stock Company to organize the exhibition.
